The team at the NFE 2022
My family and friends couldn't quite believe me when I told them where I would be spending my weekend, at The National Funeral Exhibition in Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire - even more surprised when I told them I had really enjoyed myself.
I admit it doesn't sound like the most exciting event in the calendar but for the team behind Funeral Notices it provides a unique opportunity to meet people in the industry face to face and showcase the best the industry has to offer.
When you work in the funeral industry, opportunities to talk frankly and openly are often few and far between. The National Funeral Exhibition (NFE) provides an opportunity to meet with peers and suppliers in the industry. It is a safe place to talk about the best products and services available, attend talks and learning sessions and grab some lunch or a coffee in a relaxed environment.

The NFE allows Funeral Directors to meet with suppliers to ensure they are offering the best possible products and services to bereaved families.
Funeral Directors attend the event with colleagues, friends, wives, husbands, partners and often have their children with them.
It's not uncommon to see three generations of the same family Funeral Director in attendance at the NFE.
This year the NFE was especially exciting as it's been three years since the last event because of the restrictions due to the covid pandemic. Funeral Directors and their suppliers were at the coal-face of the pandemic and after working so tirelessly the NFE was a welcome chance to relax, take stock and catch up with people you've not seen in years.
For us at Funeral Notices, the chance to exhibit at the NFE was a fantastic opportunity.
I was joined at the event by Account Managers Rob Stebbing, Helen Hiley and Rob Stebbing, Funeral Notices Design Lead Neil Jefferson, Director Darren Minns, Sales Trainer Tina Cartmell and Funeral Notices Manager Sarah Welton. We met with hundreds of Funeral Directors and their families, caught up with other suppliers and managed to attend a few learning sessions.

The pandemic changed the funeral industry, it changed the way we had to work. Many of the solutions used to overcome restrictions and isolation rules were ushered in quite quickly and often taught remotely.
The NFE was the first opportunity most of us have had to demonstrate many of the features of funeral-notices.co.uk face to face as well as meet new Funeral Directors and suppliers and discuss the next changes to the industry.
There was a special buzz around the NFE 2022 and it rubbed off on all of us who attended. There have been lots of improvements to products and services in the last couple of years and every stand at the event had a feel of excitement, innovation and a genuine care for one another and the bereaved.
It was fascinating to see the best of the best at the National Funeral Exhibition. We heard from some experts in the field, we learned about things outside of our contribution to the industry, we got to showcase funeral-notices.co.uk and we met some wonderful people.
