Baby Loss Awareness Week takes place this year from 9th-15th October, and is in its 21st year. The aim is to raise awareness for baby loss, and to let people who have lost a baby know that they are not alone, helping them to find support, and offering them a space to share their experiences. babyloss-awareness.org Break the Silence
Break the taboo around baby loss and talk about your experiences, encouraging others to do the same. Losing a baby can be an isolating experience, and Baby Loss Awareness Week encourages open conversations, providing a safe space for grieving parents, family members and friends to share their stories and find support, letting them know they’re not alone.
Raise Awareness
Baby Loss Awareness Week aims to raise awareness about the prevalence of baby loss. Many people may not realise how common this heartbreaking experience is, and raising awareness helps to shed light on the issue. Help to raise awareness by wearing the ribbon pin badge, which can be ordered from the website

Find an Event Near You
Events are held across the country, from pink and blue buildings and landmarks to ribbon remembrance events and hospital displays. Check if there are any local events of remembrance services in your area. Attending these events offers a chance for you to connect with others who understand and share your experiences.
Share Your Story
Whoever you are, whatever your experience, share your story with others to help raise awareness and build a community of support. If you or someone you know has been affected by baby loss, consider sharing your story on social media. This can help others going through similar challenges.
Support Charities
Raising awareness is essential, but providing support is equally important. Baby Loss Awareness Week emphasises the availability of resources, including counselling, support groups, and hotlines. Making donations to charities helps them to keep providing these services to grieving families.
Join the Global #WaveOfLight
Light a candle at 7pm on 15th October in memory of every baby who has died. Post a photo of your candle on social media with the hashtag
#WaveOfLight, and unite with bereaved families across the world.
Baby Loss Awareness Week is an opportunity for us to come together as a global community to support and remember those who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby. By raising awareness, breaking the silence, and offering support, we can make a difference in the lives of countless families.
