John PatrickCONNORIn loving memory of John Patrick (Jack) Connor of Rutherglen. Passed away on 21 January 1990 aged 70. Beloved husband of Helen (Eileen) nee Kelly and dearly loved dad of the late John Douglas and of Dorothy Ellen.

"The daffodils are early this Spring".

You wrote that to mum when you were courting and in London on union business. When she was very ill and bedridden, she thought you were away working and couldn't understand why you didn't write to her so I wrote her Letters from Heaven from you, posted them then read them to her and she kept them under her pillow. They made her happy.

Sleep in peace solder. Safely held in angels wings. Until we meet again.

In the words of your special song for mum I sang to her on her last day.

"Would you believe me, I love you so."

Love Always, Dorothyxx

Dear Daddy,
Can't believe it's 35 years. I remember every moment. You were and always will be in my heart as you were in mum's and Douglas kept all your articles and was so proud of you and your medals.
Put daffodils in the window for you as always. Thank you for the gift of singing among your many gifts and talents. I was singing My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose today for you and mum and Douglas.
What else can I say? Love you always and forever, your daughter Dorothyxxx

"We did not know that morning
What sorrow the day would bring,
When a heart of gold stopped beating
We could not do a thing.
We sat beside your bedside
Our hearts were crushed and sore
We tended you with loving care
Till we could do no more."

Rest easy now. Sleep in peace. Your work's done.
Until we meet again.
