JosephSTANHOPEFormerly of Conway Road, Rossendale, died on Tuesday, November 12, at Fairfield General Hospital, aged 92. Joe, as he was known, was a headmaster at Westleigh High School. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, crosswords, TV, sport especially football and Manchester United, and playing golf. Joe was a member of RMVC choir and was a school governor at St Nicholas. Husband to the late Jean, he was father of Peter and Sarah, grandfather to Jonathan, Laura and Joseph and great-grandfather to Jonah. The funeral service took place on Monday, December 16, at 1.15pm at St Nicholas Church, Newchurch, officiated by Rev Penny Warner, followed by cremation at Burnley at 2.30pm.
