I was truly heartbroken to hear of Huw’s passing. Over the years, Huw and I developed a close connection through countless conversations online. We shared the ups and downs of our lives with one another, and in that time, I came to know him deeply. We supported each other through difficult moments, and I was always struck by how genuinely kind and thoughtful he was — he often checked in just to see how I was doing.
One thing that stood out, always, was how much he adored his mother. His love for her was evident in so many of our conversations.
Huw and I went to Ysgol Aberconwy together, and I still remember those school days clearly. He had a remarkable mind — we were once paired together in computing lessons, and I was amazed by how quickly he grasped even the most complex topics. His intelligence came so naturally, but what impressed me even more was his humility and good nature.
Getting to know Huw over the years was a privilege. He was truly a lovely person, and I’ll miss our regular chats more than I can say. I do regret that we never managed to meet in person — I always thought we would one day, and now I deeply wish we had.
I’m not sure if I’ll manage to attend the funeral due to struggles with anxiety, but please know that my thoughts are with you all.
Huw, if you’re looking down — I want you to know you were my closest friend, and I will carry your memory with me always. You mattered, and you will never be forgotten.
