EdwardWHITFIELDEdward Whitfield, known as Ted, of Helmshore, died on Sunday, November 15, peacefully in hospital, aged 82 years. Born in Manchester, Ted came to Helmshore and started work at The Great House Experimental Farm moving onto work at Duralay, for 33 years until he retired. He loved gardening, playing football in his younger days and was an avid Manchester United supporter. He leaves his wife Margaret, stepsons Duncan and Andrew along with their wives., grandchildren Sophie and Lee, sister Vera, and nieces Wendy and Julie. The funeral service and committal will take place on Thursday, November 26, 3pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only, donations if desired in memory of Ted to the Alzheimer’s Society.
