AnnWHITEIn loving memory of Ann White

10th June 1942 to 11th October 2024

Ann White, of St Leonards Road, Clarendon Park, Leicester, went to her final sleep on Friday 11th October 2024, at Aylesham Court Nursing Care Home.

Mother to Rachael and Esther, Sister to Janet, Grannie to Imogen, Partner to Alan, Auntie to Andrew, Mother-in Law to Mike, Cousin to Susan, formerly Wife to Jeff, and beloved colleague, neighbour and friend.

Many in Leicester will remember Ann as a teacher at Rushey Mead School (now Rushey Mead Academy), where she taught from the mid 1970s until retirement in 2005. Ann was a very talented and much-loved teacher who changed the lives of her students.

Ann's family invite all who knew and loved her to join us for a Memorial Service to celebrate her life, on Friday 8 November at 1pm (12.45pm arrival) at the Great Meeting Unitarian Chapel, 45 East Bond Street, Leicester, LE1 4SX, where her service of life will be led by Unitarian Minister Arek Malecki. ------

May the road rise up to meet you. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Ann was a dear colleague and friend and I shall miss her greatly. I remember the joy of working with her in various school productions and the pleasure of having her make my wedding dress. I’m sorry that illness prevented me from attending her remembrance service.
Rest in peace, with all pain gone.

Thank you for your friendship, Anne, and your humour. I was so lucky to have you as my neighbour. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Your memory will live on in St Leonard’s Road.
Rest in peace, Shirley.
