CatherineWELSHCatherine Welsh (nee Scott) of Washington, formerly of Hebburn. Died peacefully in hospital with her loving family by her side on 9th February 2025, aged 87 years.

Catherine beloved wife of the late George, devoted mam to Brian and Victoria, mother-in-law to Lynne, loved Gran to Nicola, Laura, Amee and Hannah, Great Gran to Emily and Sophie and Sister to Maureen and the late Owen. Catherine was Auntie, Cousin and Friend to many.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends please meet for Catherine's service at Holy Trinity Church, Washington Village on Thursday 27th February at 1:45pm followed by committal service at Sunderland Crematorium.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu will be received on the day with proceeds going to Ward 22 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead and Barmston Village Primary School Washington. A donation box will be available at Church.

Dear Mother, I'm so grateful for the way I was raised. You were never afraid to be my mother — to put your foot down, to teach me right from wrong, to make sure I did my best. You always let me know I had a mother who cared about me, who believed in me, who was there for me no matter what.
