PhyllisWADDINGTONPassed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, in Blackpool Victoria Hospital, aged 86. Phyllis was born in Chertsey and in her early years made her way to Accrington where she settled into daily life and met the love of her life, Gordon. Phyllis became a devoted mum to Stuart and was very family orientated; she loved spending her time with them especially when her grandchildren came along. Phyllis spent the last 15 years of her working life as a nursing assistant at Calderstones prior to her retirement. She made some great friends along the way and would meet them for a catch-up once a fortnight in Clitheroe where they would enjoy a bite to eat and a natter. She loved knitting and spending time at her caravan in Blackpool with her family. Loving wife of the late Gordon, cherished mum to Stuart, devoted nanna to Danielle, Natalie and Rebecca, dearly-loved great nanna to Isaac, Anaia and Amiah, and also a dear sister to Janet and George. Phyllis will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. A funeral service took place on Monday, March 23, at Accrington Crematorium, followed by committal. Donations if desired in memory of Phyllis to The North West Air Ambulance c/o funeral director Champ Funeral Services.
