Happy 100th birthday Dad! You may not have got your letter from the Queen, as she's up there with you. We were all thinking of you and missing you on your special day. Miss you still so much, but can always hear your voice. Your first birthday spent with Mum too. Love you both so much. Sally, Terry, Lucy and Woody the dog xxxx

I remember John telling me that he could name most of the stars which could be seen from Saltburn, when I was nine years old. He was always kind, thoughtful and understanding to a budding chemist.

You were a rare breed, a very intelligent man with a wicked sense of humour. A lovely, gentle man who always put his family first. We all loved you dearly and you will be forever missed.
