A poem to mum
How’s Andrea, how’s work, how’s the car, what you been up to? You always had questions to ask, you couldn’t wait to find out the latest news no doubt to pass it on.
Your Dad, your Vicki and George, someone else in the families been up to stuff the happiness in your voice.... I was talking to such and such the other day or you’ll never guess who I saw, they were asking after you, I probably played 20, questions to find out who...
There was a car parked just off the drive, chicken nuggets instead of scampi, always something annoying you slightly, to spark a conversation. Even without your voice you’d never fail to talk, I’d sometimes say you said that earlier, or I spoke to them myself to save your throat, but you’d always continue anyways you knew, you’d planned what you wanted so say....
Well mam speaking for us all here I’m sure we all wish we had another chance to listen, to talk, to laugh another day but life has gone and shocked us all and taken you away, I love you and will miss you daily, so sadly this time there’s no catch you later, au revoir.... it’s Auf Wiedersehen Mam till we meet again x
