Gordon, what a character, you were a big part of my lord barrington journey, always made me laugh with your dry sense of humour. I didn’t ever wear red and white haha! Rest easy my friend until we meet again, I hope you got to see Newcastle lift the trophy, love Lucy and family xxx

I am proud to have been a lifelong friend of Gordon we were in the same class at Bothal school and started the training centre at Ashington Colliery on the 4th of January 1960 Gordon always made a joke of most things we all had to sit entrance tests to know your academic suitability and were graded into groups Gordon came out top of about 160 entrants and was given A1/1 status. I had a lifetime of living and sharing many many experiences with Gordon we used to go to watch the Toon every home game with his Dad and work colleagues I was there today 29-03-2025 to see the open top bus go through Newcastle city Centre how I wish I could have been there with in my opinion one of the greatest supporters there has ever been I deeply mourn the passing of a great Friend ❤️in
