Im a former student of Alan, from Spain. I was looking for him in the internet hoping to reconnect with him, I am devastated to hear about his passing. He was without doubt the greatest teacher I’ve ever had. I hope this message reaches his friends and family so they know even a year after his passing there is still people thinking about him. Rest in Peace Alan.

Alan and I started teaching at Tile Hill College in 1985. He became a great, loyal friend and colleague. He was an even-tempered guy who would prefer humour rather than confrontation. He had a wicked sense of humour and was a master of the “one liners”.
So sad he was taken so early in his retirement. We shared many beers and happy memories over 30 years. He will be fondly remembered by us all.
