We had great memories working with John, at the Spar Shop in the 1990's with his wife and other staff including Winnie when I was 14 years old. We had great laughs, he was a lovely friendly and joyful man. He would always speak when we bumped into him in Plympton with his lovely wife. He will be greatly missedd.

I am so sorry to hear of this news. I worked for John in the Spar shop back in the 90's when I was 13/14 years old. John and his wife were a lovely couple and he was a lovely happy man, that loved his life. He always had time to say hello, if I bumped him to him at anytime. Rachel. It was great times with Winnie and other staff, he will be sadly missed. xxx

So sorry to hear of your loss. We knew John and his family for many years probably from the 1940s. We went to his shop daily from my families home in Exeter St Flats. A great clever man who I used to bump into walking around Plympton too.
RIP John from Kevin Brimacombe and all of the Brimacombe family.
