Richard GeorgeSMITHPassed away on Thursday 3rd October 2024, aged 84 years.

Devoted Husband to Jacqui. Much loved Dad to Kirstie, Melanie and Charlotte. Caring Father-In-Law to Phil and Matt. Adored Grandad to seven Grandchildren, Dan, Ellie, Jess, Will, Georgia, Josh and Lucy. Brother to Jennifer and Brother-In-Law to Stuart and Yoie.

Richard was a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Estate Agent who worked across Coventry and Nuneaton for over 50 years. Well respected by all his colleagues and everyone who met him within both a professional and personal capacity, Richard was also committed to his charity work. Indeed, he was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Disabled Schools games and raising the profile of the games across the West Midlands, whilst also being a founding member of the David Scott Charity whom provide assistance by way of small enabling grants to the sick and needy in Coventry. He was also a Trustee for Coventry General Charities and the City of Coventry Freeman’s Guild. Within each of these organisations, Richard undoubtedly leaves a lasting legacy of kindness, integrity and commitment to helping people in need, which will continue to inspire future generations.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday 14th November at 11:15am in Cannon Hill Chapel, Canley Crematorium, Coventry.

Family flowers only please, but donations in memory of Richard for the Warwick Myton Hospice may be placed in the collection box at the service, or made online via Funeral Notices at www.ajlloyd.co.uk

My thoughts and best wishes are with your family. It was an honour to visit you in Myton, where you had clearly found peace, and fitting that your donations are going to them. You will be missed but the spirit of what you have achieved will live on in the charities you gave so much to.
