The obituary notice of Anne Louise SMITH

Hi everyone, Timothy has now transitioned into my new sister and is now called Cindie. I saw uncle Martine (my godfather) at his new house at village in the Cotswolds. Auntie Joan is still going strong after all these years and has definitely kept her promis of being the surrogate Gand mother to my siblings and I. Les is now in haven with gran. He was a brilliant surrogate uncle , but succumbed to cancer as well! This March will be his death anniversary. I have partly completed my RHS L2 corse, ( thanks gran for the early interest in gardening that you gave me!). It has clearly stuck and I am now considering a career in it ! ( Well, horticulture and the land based industries, after doing various courses for a few years at college!) I have even found the ragged robin flower after all theses years, that gran was going to show me in her farmers field one day. (She couldn’t as another family had dug it all up!). It looks really beautiful and I am so glad I did find it after searching it up online. I even wrote a poem about winter , inspired by Grans GangForward School, July 1952 version of A poem, entitled :Spring, by Anne Smith. I love poetry as well.

From Ruth’s eldest daughter Jemima Pennington : Sending hugs and kisses to all who knew my grandmother ´Grannie Annie’. Thank you so much gran ,for all you did for my family and I when you where alive. The instalment of nature and wildlife that you taught me as a child over the years has never died down and I am getting more help with my Autism and learning needs than ever before.
We still have the rocking horse that was made for me as the 1st grandchild at home and yes, after all theses years I am still mad on penguins!
I don’t visit Cheltenham as often now, compared to when gran was alive, but when I do it brings back such beautiful memories of my childhood with her. My brother (Timothy) and sister Tabitha (now in uni-where does the time go??!) miss gran too, but they where yonger than I was back then, so rely on me for the most memories/stories, because they don’t remember as much!
A lovely and inspiring grandmother who is no doubt in haven, I’m sure, after all she gave to this world and to all of us. ‘It's okay, we all wear nighties here’-from a trip to Africa that she took once.
