Jill has been a dear and faithful friend to both my mom (Fran Smyth) and to me after my mom died in 2008. Jill and my mom were penpals for many years and enjoyed a bond through their letters. After I wrote Jill about my mom's death, she and I continued the penpal tradition and shared letters and Jill even phoned me. I enjoyed her wit and her kindness and interest in my life all these years and she introduced me to Pam Ayres humour and to the delight of Bird's custard. Thank you to her friend Roslyn for notifying me of Jill's passing. I am in the US but wish I could be at her service. Lynne Cole
