JohnSHUTTSJohn sadly passed away at Torbay Hospital on 22nd March 2025, aged 88 years.

John will be remembered with respect as a father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was hugely proud of his family achievements.

John was extremely active in our local community, being the long-standing partner of Mrs Sylvia Rew, the proprietor of the Livermead Group of hotels, and also in his own right as the founder of Marine Travel.

John was an active supporter and sponsor of our local rugby club, Torquay Athletic RFC.

The Service to Celebrate John's life will be held at Torquay Crematorium, Hele Road, Torquay TQ2 7QG on Thursday, 8th May at 2.30pm.

No flowers please but donations in his memory for Astriid may be given online at www.stockmanandloram.co.uk/donations (This is the Charity founded by John's younger son, David Shutts OBE, and serves to support those with long-term health conditions who are looking for meaningful work). Cheques payable to the charity may be sent care of Vanessa Loram, Funeral Director at Stockman & Loram, 7 Churston Broadway, Paignton TQ4 6LE
