Peter Alan BensonRYTON(New Hartley) Peacefully in hospital on 7th March 2021, aged 67 years. Much loved brother of Kathleen, brother in law of Ian, and a loving uncle and great uncle. Peter will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Funeral service to take place at Tynemouth Crematorium on Thursday 18th March at 11.15am. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, can be made directly to the British Heart Foundation.

Another year has passed and I find myself thinking of “the old days”. Back to 1975 when I would tease Peter that he was an “old man” in his late 20’s while I was only 16. He’d reply that while he was almost twice my age, in 10 years time that distance would be smaller and in 30 years, even smaller, and soon I’d catch up! I’d love to hear him now, laughing at me for reaching my 66th birthday this year. It would have been our golden friendship anniversary in September but in my mind he will always look the same as he did when we first met. God bless Peter xx
