Mrs Roney taught me at Woodnook primary school in the 1980s and I often talk about her, even today to the pupils in my school. I remember her as a fun, kind, fair and supportive teacher who went out of her way to ensure that her pupils had a great experience of school. I have some very fond memories and would like her family to know that she is referred to often (40 years after my own primary school days) when I discuss at work how important it is to be a caring, empathetic teacher, not only thinking about the classroom but the children’s experiences beyond the school and the impact it makes. RIP Mrs Roney! I have never forgotten you. You are still teaching others about the importance of being kind.
