Our deepest condolences to Chris’ family and friends. We are still in shock on hearing of his untimely passing. Chris and I went to medical school at Edinburgh and were very good friends. We kept in touch over the last 40+ years. Every Christmas we look forward to receiving his annual letter with updates of his growing family, voluntary work in Mercy Ships and climbing expeditions. His faith in God and devotion to his family, coworkers and patients is inspiring. He continued to work after retirement was testimony to his dedication. When he did not respond to my message to join our 40th year medical school reunion, I thought he might be stuck in remote Africa. The world has lost a true bright star. We will miss him dearly.

I worked closely with Chris for the past 10 years and he was a joy to work with. He was a lot of fun and so interesting. I loved sharing adventure stories with him as he was someone I knew was genuinely interested in hearing of my travels and always had lots of great advice. He was a kind, intelligent man who cared deeply for his patients. I have missed our chats since he left and am so very sorry that I won't get the opportunity to share any more adventures.
Deepest sympathy to his lovely family who he never stopped talking about and who I know meant the world to him.
I am sadly unable to attend the funeral but will be thinking of him and all who loved him.

You were very kind to me during the short period I worked with you. I would cherish the chats we had on tennis and cricket in addition to your extensive knowledge in Cardiac anaesthesia.
Rest in peace Dr. Rigg.
My deepest condolences to the family.

Thank you for everything you did for trainees and above all for the patients.
