Alan St JohnRIDDOCH'Big Al' Aged 60 years Passed peacefully at Hospital with his family by his side. A much loved and cherished Husband to Lesley. Devoted and proud Father to Alan. Adored Gramps to Darcy, Father-in-law, Brother and a friend to so many. A big soul who touched the hearts of many. Al will be sadly missed and always remembered by all his family and all who knew him. A funeral service will take place on Friday 14th January 2022 at 11:15am at Thornton Crematorium. Family flowers only please but donations are being gratefully accepted for Freshfield Animal Rescue c/o Dean Brothers Independent Funeral Directors, Deans Court, Gores Lane, Formby, L37 7DF. Only just learnt of this over the weekend. So very sad, what an absolute top guy. Was a very good friend to me in the 90’s. We lost touch when he moved to Formby. Genuinely one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. Condolences to Lesley and young Alan. Paul Hutchinson

You could never forgot Big Al once you met him, he would always lighten the room up & have everyone in stitches laughing. Everyone has their share of hilarious stories with him. A great man who I feel lucky to have known for so long & was lucky to share so many great moments with.

Struggling for my words
Known the Big Al for 30 + yrs
A giant of a personality, a truly lovely, loyal and very funny person, he will be missed by all. Our love to Lesley, Alan Steph and everybody
Why take the beautiful, Why, why, why
Great memories of football at the Hawthorns and at Anfield, I sadly missed
a trip in 2019 due to illness, with both Al’s to my very special club lunch in London (St George’s Day Club)
