BentePOOLEDied peacefully on Tuesday 6th August 2024 after the bravest struggles with cancer.

A nurse by training, Bente moved to the UK from Denmark in 1962 and met her husband to be, Roger Poole, an academic then studying in Cambridge. Bente was a founding member of the Nottingham Clinic (later the Priory Clinic Nottingham) for the treatment of drug and alcohol dependency, the clinic saved the lives of hundreds of people struggling with addiction. Bente found joy and love in family and through close friendships which she established in many areas of Nottingham life.

Sadly missed by her sons Vincent, Magnus and Richard.

Cremation service to be held at Wilford Hill Crematorium, Loughborough Road, Nottingham NG2 7FE on Friday 13th September 2024 at 4pm.

Instead of flowers please send donations to Haywood House, Palliative Care Unit at the City Hospital.

Thank you to all of the amazing staff at Hayward House.

The care and kindness showed to both Mum and her relatives and friends was just wonderful.

It says on the reception at Hayward House ‘Not all Angel live in Heaven, some live here too’. 🪽🙏🏻

This could not be a truer statement. ❤️

Thanks you to the amazing staff at Hayward House who looked after Mum so brilliantly.

They are certainly correct when it says on the reception at Hayward House that ‘not all angels live in heaven’! 🪽

The kindness and care shown to Mum and to her friends and relatives was just exceptional. ❤️
