It was an absolute pleasure to know Jack. He was passionate about people and wishing everyone, whatever their differences, to be treated with respect and kindness. I feel privileged to have known him for many years I did and he has left memories for me to treasure.
Jack dedicated very many hours of his time volunteering as an Independent Advisor with Devon and Cornwall Police, and this is how I got to know him. During this time he influenced much change in the way the Force delivers its services to different communities and how they access its services, especially people with disabilities. He also gave much of his time helping improve the service and support given to victims of hate crime. Devon and Cornwall Police will certainly miss Jack, as will I, very much.
