Alice JoanPLUMMERKnown as Joan, of Burnley Road East, Whitewellbottom, passed away at the Dove Court Care Home in Burnley, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, January 16, aged 92. Born in Rawtenstall, Joan lived her entire life in Rossendale. Raised by parents Edith and Frank Pollard, she grew up with her beloved late sister Ida, and had a cherished older brother George. Joan was warm, compassionate and caring and, as such, formed many enduring friendships throughout her life. A dearly loved mum, nana, grandma, aunty and friend, Joan leaves daughters Adele and Iris and son Rudi, grandchildren Michael, Ben, Becky and Jack, great-grandchildren Charlie, Georgia, Sami, Etty and Albie, son-in-law Andrew and daughter-in-law Lynn, Adriana and Freya, nieces and nephews and family members in America. Joan's funeral was held on Monday, February 3, with a service held at Lumb Baptist Church, followed by committal at Burnley Crematorium. Donations will be welcomed to the RNLI and Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, c/o funeral director Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Service.
