JoanPHILLIPSIt is with great sadness to give the news that Joan Phillips, (nee Lush), has passed away aged 97 at Salisbury Hospital on February 19th 2021. Funeral to be held at South Newton Church on March 30th at 2.30pm. Donations if desired to St Andrew's Church South Newton c/o Chris White Funeral Directors, 12 South Street, Wilton SP2 0JS. Joan lived in Sherborne for the first 40 years of her life, the much loved daughter of Jack and Kath Lush, and sister to Betty. Joan worked as a hairdresser in Heather in Yeovil before and after World War Two. In 1943 Joan joined the WAFS, calibrating instruments of Tiger Moths. Joan lived in Tidworth and then Salisbury since 1962. Joan leaves behind a husband Neville, daughter Kate and grandchildren Rosie and Sam who all miss her greatly. Joan was a loving kind person and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
