PramilaPAREKHLady Pramila Parekh, beloved wife of Professor Lord Parekh and devoted mother to Raj, Nitin and Anant, passed away on August 30th, after a short illness. She was an active Community Relations Officer, who did much to bring Hull's various ethnic and religious communities together. She was particularly sensitive to the religious needs of minorities and did much to integrate them into Hull's tolerant social framework. She was a well-known Cultural Ambassador who interpreted and explained the religious beliefs and practices of different communities, especially Hindu, in Hull's primary and secondary schools.

Her funeral will be held at midday Saturday 28th September at Lelley Fields Crematorium, HU12 8FX. No flowers please, but should you wish, you may make a donation to Dementia UK. Bhikhu Parekh Lord Parekh of Hull

I am so proud to say I spent time with Pramila for a short time before I became ill myself, and we would laugh so much about thing’s we did in our childhood. Pramila talk a lot about her childhood and her grandfather who she adored. She talked about her three boy’s and how they would all play cricket together. She was extremely proud of what each of them had achieved in their careers and how they had children of their own who Pramila and Lord Parekh were very proud of. I enjoyed Pramila’s company because she was such a happy person and I wish I had known her longer. I often think about the times I stayed overnight with Pramila and how we would sit up late just giggling over silly things, then the next morning it would all start again. I will be thinking of you all and especially you Lord Parekh because I know it is going to be hard for you. It was easy to see how much you both loved each other and how you cared for Pramila and how she cared for you. I am so sorry for your loss and I am so blessed that I got to know you both even though it was only a short time.
