I fondly recall visiting Wales for the first time nearly forty years ago and meeting my baby cousin Christopher. From that day onward—despite our geographical distance between the UK and USA—each time we reconnected it was instant joy.
Our Nana’s love for her grandchildren and our mum’s sibling-bond helped bridge our connection throughout the years. I’m grateful for our reunions across several decades and for the depth experienced each time.
Christopher was always resilient, clever, and authentic—all characteristics of the fine young man he grew into and indicators of his bright future.
I’m heartbroken we will no longer converse in the same fashion during my next return. The handful of delightful memories we shared during our intersecting journeys will be passed to the next generation.
Christopher’s infectious smile, warm hospitality, and great sense of humor will be forever treasured in my heart.
Love,
Ramel
