MURPHY FRANCIS (FRANK) JOHMURPHY On 4th October 2008, peacefully at his home in the presence of his family Francis (Frank) John Murphy RIP of Edinburgh Road, Dumfries, beloved husband of Isa, dearly loved dad of Clare and Joanne and treasured papa of Iona, Calum, Finlay and Abigail. Requiem Mass at St Andrews Church, Dumfries on Wednesday 8th October at 10am. Funeral thereafter to Dumfries High Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited to attend. Flowers or donations if desired to S.C.I.A.F will be received at the service in memory of Frank.

A folk night out with Frank


I only learned of Frank passing away from Ron Flanagan. I last saw Frank when we played a rough town hall folk night in Barrow in Furness. I drove Ron's shaky old van all the way back to Longridge. We laughed and sang, argued and debated noisily all the way. It was a great night imbibed with good banter and wit. I only recently retired from teaching art in the mad world of education. I was so envious of Franks decision to get out into the fresh air. My thoughts go out to his family. I cherish that evening, it was one to remember. Trevor Colluney Horden Raikes 1980's
