The obituary notice of Dewi Grey MORRIS

Gwelais Dewi Pws yn cyngerdd Eisteddfod Abertawe 2006, tafled garreg o Treboeth. Gydag ef oedd y diweddar Stuart Cable yn chwarae'r drwmiau. Noson byth angofiadwy. Colled mawr i'r cenedl, a cholled mawr i'r iaith. Diolch Dewi.

Dewi and I became emailing ‘pen pals’ in the last 2 years. I had been speaking to his old pal, the actor Dafydd Hywel (DH) in the pub one night about my interest in comedy and Welsh music, and of course Dewi himself. DH said he’d pass on my email to Pws. Thinking nothing of it, I was surprised to receive an email from Pws the next day! We exchanged links to funny youtube videos and chatted about my favourite characters from ‘Torri gwynt’. On DH’s passing I passed my condolences on to Pws, which he gratefully received. His last message said ‘bydd y byd ddim yr un peth hebddo fe’… and now I feel exactly the same about Pws. How very sad. My condolences to his family and close friends. Xxx

Cofion cynnes iawn amdanat pan oeddwn yn Aelod Treforus. Cymeriad hyfryd iawn. Diolch i ti am dy holl waith dros y blynyddoedd yng Ngymru. Cymro hollol.

Had a few pints with Dewi in the Claude Cardiff in the 1970’s great company and fun.A real Welshman RIP

I first met him when he was leading the singing yn cymraeg in a Cardiff pub.Sang with him so many times.I will never forget being present during filming of GRAN SLAM Hotel St Lazare Paris.What a night. Shared a joke with him at the protest at Tryweryn protest Wales is not For Sale.Treasue my pic of us both at Plaid Cymru Conference. I am so honoured to have met this great character.A true Seren o Cymru.
