So sorry to see Dave's house up for sale and to hear the news. He was one of a kind and I have fond memories of times shared in the back garden when we were neighbours.

My boys would scurry across the back garden whenever they heard David firing up the train.

David, so sorry you have left us. We had some great times working at Jarrolds in Market Street, Cambridge.

Dave was one of the best. He always had time for people, and unsurprisingly, given our shared interests, he always liked to talk about railways.

His other passion was music, and having played in a band in the 1960s, he knew his stuff. On the coach back from an exhibition in Harrogate some years ago, we flattened my phone's battery playing 'guess the tune'.

My wife and daughter will also miss Dave. One only had to engage him in conversation to realise he was one of life's gems. We profoundly hope Dave finds peace and happiness in God's good keeping.

RIP

A unique person, always positive despite problems. He will be forever famous for wagon kits and Welsh slate of all grades! Andrew A.
