EricMOOREOn Friday, November 6, peacefully after a short illness, in White Ash Brook Care Home, Oswaldtwistle, Eric Moore, aged 81. Devoted husband of the late Ethel, loving father to Mark and John, cherished grandad of Bradley, Matthew, Jessica and Jorja, and great-grandad to Myles, dear father-in-law to Gillian and Joanne, a sadly missed friend to many. Eric was never happier than when he was watching sport; he loved following Blackburn Rovers both home and away with his family, and during the summer months he also enjoyed watching cricket. Eric was born in Sherington, Buckinghamshire and following his marriage to Ethel he moved North, settling in Oswaldtwistle, where he would spend the rest of this life. During his working life in the North, Eric worked at Rothwells Boiler Makers, John Wood Steel Drums and at Gaskills Carpets up until his retirement. During his retirement he loved spending time at his caravan in Lytham, making many happy memories with Ethel and his grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, at 10.30am, in Holy Trinity Church, New Lane, Oswaldtwistle, prior to private interment in Immanuel Parish Churchyard, New Lane, Oswaldtwistle. Due to the current legislation, attendance to the funeral service will be by invitation only.
