Joan, from the 1st day I met you , it was so obvious you that you were such a friendly, lovely, kind person. We had an immediate connection with our jobs and swapping war stories was one of the great things about knowing you. Things I loved about You ; independent, funny, sugar monster , Davey loving , bouncy ball buying, kind, thoughtful person . You made the world a better place my friend. It hasn’t really sunk in that you’re not next door , but you will always be in our hearts. Kindness and love are very special gifts that you have shown to me and Mum and Nigel . You know we loved you back. Joan , we all miss you and there is a huge hole left behind in this world. You deserve peace and serenity now .You are a one off treasure who will be remembered with love and respect. Good bye my friend, thank you for everything .We will meet again in that better place . Rest in peace xx

To my ever so special human friend, Joan.

I was chosen from the rescue kennels by my Mum & Dad
(Val & Nigel) and that was really exciting but then I came home to Retford and found 'My Joan' waiting for me next door. OOOOH that was it ! My Joan knew exactly where to tickle me and never came to my gate without best ham or roast lamb, she was perfectly trained from day 1. I loved her so so much. I always will, I even went to see her in the care homes. Other people wanted to fuss me but I only had eyes for Joan. I will sit on Millingtons front door seat and dream happy thoughts of you everyday My Joan. Thank you for loving me. Davey Dog xxxx

At peace now Joan.
We were friends and neighbours who became 'family.'
You meant the world to us and we shared so many stories and had so many laughs. Not forgetting your long time loyalty to Sheffield United! The last 2 years were so difficult for you but we were always by your side with a hug and a cuddle and a cheeky response. We will miss you so much but we will never forget you, Miss Millington. Love from Val & Nigel xx
