Catherine DurninMCKAYWith much sadness and sorrow it is announced that Cathie passed away peacefully at Shardlow Manor Residential Home, where she had lived for the last year, on Friday 24th May 2024 at the age of 94 years.
A Requiem Funeral Mass will be held on Friday 21st June 2024 at 10:30am, at The Church of the Risen Lord, Castle Donington.
Cathie will be received into The Catholic Church the night before at 5:30pm and will rest there before her funeral service.
After the service Cathie will be taken to her final resting place at The Barroon Cemetery, Castle Donington.
After the service Mike & Gill McGhee will host a wake at 49 Park Lane and serve traditional Scottish fare in her honour including Mince & Tatties and Tipsy Laird Trifle, which Cathie taught them to make.
All are welcome to attend and at Cathie's own request please wear bright clothing.
Any donations will be welcomed in Cathie's memory and will benefit Cancer Research UK.
