Terrific person to know, got to know Dougie in the 80s through the local running club. Would never walk by without speaking to you.

I wasn't fortunate to have Dougie as a teacher, but he was always in the meadow centre when I worked their with the grandkids.

He will be missed.

Very fond memories of Dougie who was my Gym teacher back in the 70s, especially his management of the school basketball team which I played in through secondary school at Dumbarton Academy. RIP Dougie.

One of the best. My gym teacher at the academy, and also helped me learn to swim when I was at primary school . In 5th year he absolutely got me when I only did 3 subjects but did a lot of sports. Old school tough but fair. Much love to his family. One if my very favourite teachers.

A great man, he used to buy golf balls from me when I was at school. At peace now, good night Dougie.
