Margaret EllenMCCARTHYIt is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eileen, aged 89 years, on Friday 20th December 2024, whilst in the care of Ladysmith Care Home, Grimsby.

Beloved wife of the late Edward (Ed). Perfect mother to Mike, Nick, Pete, and their late siblings Joe, Anne, and Edward. Devoted sister to Billy, and their late siblings, Joe, Vera, Noel, Betty, and Mikey. Loving nanna to 8 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 3. Caring mother-in-law, auntie, and friend to all those she met during her long nursing career, and local church and community activities.

A funeral service to celebrate Eileen's life will be held at Grimsby Crematorium on Friday 10th January 2025 at 1:30pm.

By request, family flowers only please. Donations in Eileen's memory may be made to; Dementia UK, 7th Floor, One Aldgate, London, EC3N 1RE.

Margaret Ellen McCarthy, but simply known to me as Nick's mum. I only knew you for a very short period of your long life, but remember your calm, serene presence in a house full of the mild chaos of 4 sport mad boys rushing around at 90 miles an hour. You always had a smile, and never raised your voice. RIP
