Grandma,
In the quiet corners of my heart,
Where laughter rings and memories start,
There lives a woman, bold and bright,
My grandma, my joy, my guiding light.
With twinkling eyes and a mischievous grin, She was my partner in crime, where do I begin?
We'd get into trouble, our laughter a song,
In this world together, is where we belong.
Afternoon tea or scampi with sauce.
We’d escape, we’d drive, and sing songs of course.
Whether It be beach trips, shopping or cuppas at spoons.
We loved our ‘breaking out’ naughty afternoons.
Yet oh, the Phyllis problems, how they would arise,
Interruptions aplenty, but she'd roll her eyes,
With a ‘no bother grandma’, I’d tackle each mess,
In the chaos of life, she gave happiness.
She saved my life, more times than I can say.
Her wisdom, her love, always found the way.
She listened with patience, her heart open wide,
In moments of darkness, she stood by my side.
My potato, real leather loving, Savlon delight,
When in her presence, everything felt right,
Her spirit, a comfort, her laughter, a charm. She was my stormiest weather, but also my calm.
Now the world feels heavy, a deep shade of grey.
For without her beside me, I'm lost and astray.
Eternally heartbroken, I hope to carry her grace,
In all of my memories, Is where I’ll see her face.
So here’s to you grandma, my best friend, my pain in the rear.
In every heartbeat, I will hold you near,
With love that transcends through any shadow Ill roam,
In the light of your spirit, will always be my home.
Love you
