KathleenLUNN (FIGG)It is with sadness that we are announcing the passing of our Mum, Kathleen Lunn. She died peacefully after a long illness with cancer. Mum had been struggling greatly over recent months and is now no longer suffering.
Mum was an active member of the East Grinstead community, having lived here her whole life. She had a love of making music and acting, and was involved in various musical and amateur dramatics groups over the years. For many people Mum will be remembered as “Brown Owl” or “Red Squirrel”; as a Guider she led both Brownies and Rainbows for a long time at St Swithun’s church, bringing joy to many children. Religion was the cornerstone of Mum’s life and she will be greatly missed by the St Swithun’s church family, in particular “the Friday girls”. Second only to her faith was Mum’s love of cats. Over the last 30 years she has always had at least one cat and proudly called herself a “mad cat lady”. She also volunteered at Chelwood Gate cats’ home and greatly enjoyed her weekly trips there for cat cuddling.
Kathleen was also a Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Together with Dad (Tom), Mum had five children Caz, Stef, Tom, Geoff and Andy. Whilst she had her struggles, she loved us all. She is survived by her husband, five children and three (nearly four) grandchildren.
Kathleen's funeral has been booked for 11:30am on Friday 29th November at St Swithun's Church, East Grinstead. If you knew Kathleen/Mum and would like to attend. Flowers welcome or donations to Cats Protection would be purrfect.
Mum, you are loved and will be greatly missed.
