Vanessa JoyceLOCKWOODVanessa passed away with her family by her side, on Tuesday 17th September 2024, aged 63. Vanessa was born in Derbyshire, to parents Philip and Sheila Aldridge, and sister Pip. She graduated from Winchester University after studying English Literature, and went on to work for several companies. Most notable was her time with Laskarina Holidays, where she was able to combine her passion for history with her joy for travelling, working alongside colleagues who became a second family. Married to Steven, Vanessa was a devoted mother to three children - Emma, Chris, and Katie - all of whom miss her dearly. She was also grandmother to Cooper and Mason, who spent many wonderful afternoons with her watching Fireman Sam with chocolate buttons. Vanessa left us too early, but shone throughout her life and blessed us with love, kindness and wisdom. We had such wonderful times together, and she will be sorely missed, but we know we will be together again one day and for all eternity.
A service for Vanessa will be held at Markeaton Crematorium (Main Chapel) on Friday 11th October at 11:00am.
