Camille ChristineKERRCamille passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family, on March 21, aged 77.
Camille was a devoted wife to George, loving mum to Lorraine and the late Andrew, cherished grandma to Matthew, Annabelle, Bethany, and Jennifer, and a proud great grandma.
She lived most of her life in Clayton-le-Moors, where she created a legacy of hard work, love, and dedication to her family.
As a mum, Camille was unwavering in her commitment to providing for her family. She worked as a seamstress alongside her own mother, Lois, for many years, creating a wealth of fond memories that would stay with her forever. Later in life, Camille earned her CSS qualification and began working for Lancashire County Council, caring for the elderly. She eventually became the manager at Woodlands in Clayton-leMoors, where she continued her compassionate work until her retirement.
In her leisure time, Camille had a passion for travelling. Alongside George, she loved to explore abroad, but their shared discovery of caravanning was something truly special. Whether it was venturing around Europe or travelling the length and breadth of the UK, their caravanning trips brought them much joy. Camille also enjoyed quiet moments at home, indulging in her love of reading, completing jigsaws, playing Scrabble, and solving puzzles – activities that kept her mind sharp and brought peace to her heart.
Camille will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her kindness, hard work, and love for her family have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call her family and friend.
Camille’s funeral is to be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, April 4 at 1.40pm
Family flowers only please, but donations are being gratefully received in Camille’s memory, on behalf of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
