I find myself writing this in complete disbelief at losing my best man. I met you in 1985 at Blessed William Howard in the sixth form. You welcomed me into your home and we watched The Terminator. We worked together at Bejams in Stafford. I accompanied you to the Police training center at Ryton upon Dunsmore where you started your 30 year career in the Police. You are the very reason I became a Police Officer in 1994. We had some amazing times together always giving me life advice. In 2001 you were my best man at my wedding in Northampton. We last shared a Holiday in Tenerife late 2023.
Rest in peace my friend.

Mate…it’s testament to you that everyone I tell the news is shocked, upset……and then has a story to tell about you!
Truly one of the great characters, whilst things won’t be the same know full well that you will be remembered and will always remain one of the best
The anecdotes will show you lived life to the full but oh there was so much more to do
You are being massively missed but will always be celebrated

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Simon. We shared many unforgettable memories together during our time at Blessed William Howard School, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have known him.

Simon, you were taken too soon, but your memory will live on in all who had the privilege of calling you a friend. You’ll always be remembered fondly, and I will cherish the times we had together.

Rest in peace, Simon. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Simon was an amazing man who put everyone else around him first. The times he picked me up from work at the last minute or drove me to uni are only a couple of examples. I'll always be thankful for the kindness, generosity and patience he gave my mum and me. Despite the many times he had to put up with my ranting and opinions, he treated me like his equal, and we always laughed about it in the end. He was a truly special person, with the best sense of humour and kept my mum always laughing or with a smile on her face. It's heartbreaking for him to leave us so soon, but I'm so thankful to have known him and be able to keep the best memories with him forever.
