Daniel RogerHUNTThe wonderful Daniel Roger Hunt of Carrington and Sherwood, will be buried at Tithe Green at 2pm on the 14th March 2024. Dan died in a house fire on December 1st last year. Dan was a loving and loyal husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and fur-baby dad. He was also a gifted and dedicated artist, performer, and educator who was unbearably kind, and famously funny. Those who knew him loved him. He was born in beautiful York in February 1976, and went to Huntington Secondary School and then Park Lane College in Leeds. He kept friends from his university days at De Montfort University, graduating with a 1st in Fine Art and Performing Arts. He met his first girlfriend there, who became his wife for life. He went on to do an MA at Nottingham Trent. The pair fell in love with Nottingham. He was a founding member of 3rd Space, Katunda Argile, Fat House, Nott Normal, Hunt and Molinski, and other creative collaborations, and was a Senior Lecturer at Lincoln University, having taught in the School of Creative Arts for 16 years. He became a carer to his wife when she grew wheels, while they both also lived with his own less visible disabilities. In his spare time, he looked after friends of all species. Dan loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and would have saved every one of them if he could.
Community members who wish to pay their respects, and those affected by news reports last year, are invited to see Dan off from Sherwood Shop area on his final earthly journey.
