IreneHODGSONMrs Irene Hodgson, of Olive House Care Home Bacup, died at home on Saturday, January 25, aged 98 years. A short service will be held at the Chapel of Rest on Tuesday, February 11 at 10.45am, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 11.30am, conducted by Gemma Rooke. Born in Manchester, she resided in Bacup for 60 years. She had worked at JJ McLeries as a shoe operative, retiring from Lancashire County Council where she had been a Home Help. She enjoyed playing bingo, caravanning holidays with her granddaughter and great granddaughters, and also watching TV soaps. Widow of the late Geoff and mother of the late Geoff, she leaves daughter Sandra, five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, four sisters and one brother.
