Alice MaudHOBSONHOBSON - ALICE MAUD (REES), 18th October 2021 Leaving four children, Alison, Avril, Philip and Robert and her grandson, Lewis. Alice, our mother, was born in Liverpool on 26 April 1926 to parents William and Ada Rees (nee Jones) of Welsh/Manx ancestry. Youngest of three children, loving sister to William and David. Her parents died before her marriage to George (Charlie) Hobson in 1952. After secretarial training Mum enjoyed Conveyancing, working for solicitors in Liverpool, Ormskirk and Southport. She played piano, loved opera, classical music and ballet. Other talents included sewing, knitting, gardening, and legendary baking skills which produced delicious cakes and scones. Inspired by her father she encouraged her children in their studies and interests. Her keen sense of humour and resourcefulness helped her through difficult times. Passionate about wildlife and dogs she supported associated charities and adopted rescued dogs from Freshfield Animal Rescue. Sincere thanks to Mum's friends and neighbours, staff at Care Concern and Southview Lodge, Hesketh Bank, and to Rev Rebecca Clarke at St Stephen's, Banks. Loving and generous mother, considerate to all. We carry you in our hearts and we love you beyond measure. Gorffwys Mewn Heddwch (Rest in Peace). Shee Yee dy row maree (May the peace of God be with her) Cusk yn cres (Sleep in peace) Funeral Service - 8 November, 11.00 am, St Stephen's Church, Banks, Southport, followed by committal at Burscough Crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations for St Stephen's Church. Enquiries - Moisters Funeralcare, 8 Marshside Road, Southport, PR9 8PF. Tel: 01704 227430

Auntie Maud,

A message as it is Mother`s Day and that time of year, we send our thoughts and memories to you as always.
We remember the many happy times that we spent with you and Uncle Charlie, and you always had our Mother Iris Josephine Hill laughing so much.
We always think of you, and never forget your cakes, and scones.

From Helen, Gordon Nicholas, Gordon Thomas and Caesar Anderson.

Dear Mum, you come into my thoughts everyday and so, in many ways, I don't need a special day to remember you. But yesterday was blessed with blue skies and welcome sunshine. It was glorious and was yet another Mother's Day without you.
You're always missed and always remembered.

Dear Auntie Maud,

Leaving our message for you from Helen, Gordon, Gordon Thomas, Eleanor, and Caesar Anderson. We our always thinking of you, and never a day goes by that we do not think of you. As we have just returned from our holiday in the Lake District, there were many walks we did, were we were thinking of our relatives in the family. Always in our thoughts and never forgotten.

Dear Mum,
It's three years since you left us and you are missed so much.
You are in my thoughts at some point during each day, often when I'm walking the dogs, and I take those quiet moments to say hello and thank you.
All my love. ❤️🐾
