Ronnie was born in Nunts Lane, Coventry
Nunts Lane was where he spent his childhood and teenage years, Consecutively he lived in the ‘Potters Green’ and ‘Walsgrave areas of Coventry. Ronnie was a ‘True Coventry Kid’
He was made a ‘Freeman of the City’ after completing a 6 year apprenticeship at Art School, Cope Street, City Centre. Ron’s speciality was letter press He was a member of the Chapel. More recently he adapted to Digital Printing. Ultimately the Car factories and Courtaulds: (the beating heart of the Midlands) lured Ron away from printing, for a few years. When he worked for Chrysler, Leyland and Courtaulds. Ron returned to Printing following the unrest of the 70’s
As a School boy Ron went to Whitemoor School. He played Rugby for the school. Ronnie was mischievous: on one occasion he was given the cane in the Girls part of the school. When he left school at 15 years old he continued playing Rugby for various Coventry factories, including Alfred Herbert’s. In later years he maintained his fitness with gym work and running.
Adventurous holidays to Africa, India, Australia, South America and Europe, with his wife Esther, son Barry, daughter in law Lizzie, Granddaughter Abi her husband Lee and great Grandson Reid kept Ronnie physically fit.

Funeral Service to take place at The Heart of England Crematorium on Monday 28th April at 3:30pm. Family flowers only please, donations if desired in aid of Alzheimers Research may be sent c/o Devall & Son Funeral Directors or made online via www.devallandson.com
