The obituary notice of Denzil (Butch) HAPGOOD

I can't believe my uncle Denzil has gone he was a gentleman who everyone knew and liked. When dad was ill he was always there for him and for us. Fond memories of growing up and dad taking me up there. I miss seeing you in the garden and I bet everyone else does.
I was so proud to point out where you lived to my friends etc. Always that's my uncle denzils house
Hearing stories about you and dad whilst you were growing up and your lives makes me giggle .you two were like peas in a pod .
Will miss you but I hope you and dad give them hell up there.

Condolences to Caroline & family. Daddy & Denzil were friends from children. When daddy passed away Denzil came knocking at my door & was very upset, even though we could only have 10 at the funeral he stood outside to pay respects to our father. RIP Denzil, Lynne, Sian & Gail Haeney

I first met Denzil over 20years ago and we got on immediately. We both had a keen interest in football although very different teams(im a Bluebird) so we exchanged lots of friendly banter. Mostly i enjoyed his stories of his time at sea and the adventures he had where he could be in Swansea on Monday and in Tokyo Japan by the weekend. Denzil was a true man of the world and a true man of of Swansea, a city which he loved and a passionate Swan. God bless you Denzil you will be missed

Miss seeing you go about your daily routines from my window Denz .It seemed that everyone passing stopped for a chat .
Llangyfelach has lost a true character and lovely man.
The place just doesn't seem the same.

I first met Denzil sometime after the Swans moved to the new stadium, he was laying the law down in the Harvester to a few people who needed to know where the swans were going wrong! That was Den !!!
From that day on my wife and I have been close friends of Denzil, whether that was at the pub, a telephone chat or at the stadium, our seats are directly behind his so we would see each other at the games, if I were down on my own I would often sit next to him and feel the wrath of him screaming at the linesman, he was so funny, so kind, a perfect gentleman and a really great friend, we will miss you Den.
