Dad, I still struggle to find the words as I’m still in disbelief that you have gone. I love you so, so much and hope you have now found peace. It was amazing to see so many people celebrate your life, so many stories were shared and the happiest & fondest memories were remembered.

I can’t thank you enough for being the BEST dad I could have ever wished for. I have such happy memories from my childhood, spending all of your spare time together; singing songs together in the car, dragging me round yet another market, gardening, garden parties & BBQ’s, DIYing together, (i think you bought me my own pair of steel toecap boots when i was about 11 years old), matching yellow crocs, the list goes on and on. I just had so much adoration for you growing up and was so proud to be your Daughter.

We will keep your memory alive as Lilibet grows up and tell her all the amazing things about her Grandad.

We had a wonderful day for you yesterday and lots of donations were given in your memory. We hope you enjoyed seeing your fireworks from the sky.

Be at peace now, Dad. May you rest easy. I love you forever. X

(Thank you to all those for made a contribution to Mind & Cancer Research yesterday)

This is the face that we have loved for 52 years .
Our beloved brother John , from a Bonny little lad to the most handsome man .
We will never see that lovely face, hear your voice or laugh with you again .
Hardworking , Comical , Caring , Loyal, and Supportive .
You were loved and protected growing up by so many lovely Ladies,
Mother Mary , your Sisters , Sister in laws Toni , Linda and your beautiful Girls Emily and Amy .
To your Sisters you were still a little lad in short trousers .
We'll miss you rocking up laden with Sausages and Pork Belly , your lovely homemade Chilli Jam . ( You loved to please people , and you did , always ) .
Samantha said that you'll be sitting on a Cloud enjoying a tipple with our George and Linda ( after you've had a roasting from George that is ) .
Some folk called you Johnnie two pints , little did they know you'd probably had one at home ( deffo Johnnie three pints )
How can we ever say goodbye to you John , you truly are unforgettable.
We will miss you beyond forever our darling brother .
Safe in the arms of your Mother XX
You have been loved XX
