EdwardHAILWOODEddie sadly passed away on Wednesday 31 January 2024 at the age of 90. He will be deeply missed by all his loving family and friends.
He will now be at peace with his beautiful wife, June who sadly passed away in October 2023
Eddie was a well respected gentleman who, during his long and full lifetime had a positive impact on many people including ex pupils of Park Way and Huyton Modern (Roby Comp) school not to mention the many who had the privilege to be sent to the Knowsley disruptive unit behind Huyton Fire Station.
He loved his time in the TA and was a passionate Evertonian. He was a keen footballer and played many seasons for Aigburth Peoples Hall. He also was privileged to be presented with a trophy by Gordon Banks at Wembley Stadium for being the oldest player to play in the Umbro Cup Competition.
For anyone wanting to pay their respects, the service will held be in the Rosemary Chapel at Springwood Crematorium on Tuesday 12 March 2pm.
All donations will be collected in Eddie's memory and given to St Gabriel's pensioner's Support Group. A group that have supported both Eddie and his wife.
