Hello Holly & Laura
My name is Mark Fearon.
I first met Michael in the 1980's when he was at Ashton Hayes.
I am the guy who gave him all the history on the house and helped him when he opened the gardens for the NGS annually.
I was there when old Billy was helping Henry Hignett with the gardens. I'm not too sure if Henry is still with us ?
Although Michael moved away to North Wales, we kept in touch and I visited him at Garthewin each year on the open days.
We exchanged Christmas Cards each year and I wondered why I hadn't received a card this year ....and now I know why.
I found out of Michael's sad passing via the Malvernian Society website. I would have come to the funeral if I had known.
I can't express fully just how sad I am to hear that Michael is no longer with us ....he was a very special fella and a good man.
Once again, my sincere condolences for your sad loss.
If the gardens are still open again this year I will make every effort to attend.
Very best wishes.
M
