ReginaldGREGORYOn January 8 at Burnley Hospital,
Reginald (Reg) aged 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
He was the devoted husband of the late Doreen,
precious father to Julie and son-in-law Colin.
A deeply loved grandad to Lindsay and Mark, Alex and Kate and great-grandson Oliver.
He was the much loved brother of Raymond and the late June. A loving brother-in-law to Diann and Marian. He was also a deeply respected uncle and lifelong friend to Ellen.
Born on Elizabeth Street, Accrington, to the late Reginald Snr and Alice. Reg attended Springhill School and later Woodnook. On leaving school at the age of 14, he became an apprentice painter and decorator. After his national service Reg then went to work as a painter and decorator for Duttons Brewery, then Whitbreads.
Reg used to say there wasn’t a pub in East Lancashire he hadn’t worked in. Reg and his beloved Doreen loved nothing more than spending time on holiday. Family holidays in Cornwall then later to Malta, Tenerife, Greek Islands and further afield to Florida and Antigua. One of his favourite pastimes was watching a good film, especially westerns
with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.
Reg was also a lifelong supporter of Blackburn Rovers. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The funeral service will be held at
Accrington Crematorium on
Tuesday, January 28 at 12.20pm.
No flowers by request, but donations if desired to East Lancashire Hospice or The Royal British Legion.
